CREATING VISUALS WITH AI: METHOD, LIMITS AND RIGHTS
Banners, illustrations, backgrounds, packshot variations: what image generators do well in 2026, how to get a result consistent with your brand, and what you need to know about rights.

- AI excels at scenes, backgrounds, illustrations and format variations.
- The logo, the text and the exact product are done by hand or with a real photo.
- A style description and a reference image keep the brand consistent from one visual to the next.
I use image generators every week for my clients: packaging, product scenes, campaign visuals. Here is the method that gives usable results, and the cases where a photographer is better.
What it does well
- Scenes and backgrounds : your product placed on a market table, in a kitchen, on a beach. We keep the real photo of the product and generate the setting.
- Illustrations for an article, a newsletter, a service page, in a consistent style.
- Variations : the same visual in square, story, banner format, in summer then in winter.
- Mockups to validate an idea before paying for a real shoot.
What must be done by hand
The logo, the text, the prices: always added afterwards, in a layout tool. Generators write badly and distort logos. The product itself, when it must be exact (a bottle, a piece of jewellery, a dish): real photo, cut out, placed on the generated scene.
The method that keeps the brand
- A style description written once: light, palette, framing, mood. We reuse it in every request.
- A reference image (your best photo) given to the generator to keep consistency.
- Ten variants, we keep one, we retouch the details.
- High-definition export, cropping per format, text added afterwards.
Rights, in plain terms
A generated image is not protected by copyright in Europe in the classic sense, but the tool's terms of use apply: check that commercial use is allowed by your subscription. Never ask for “in the style of” a living artist or a brand. And do not present as a real photo what is not one: for a food or cosmetic product, it is a legal risk.
What it costs
The tools: €10 to €40 per month. The time: half a day to set the method and the brand, then a few minutes per visual. I offer a workshop to install this in-house, or I produce the visuals of a campaign on demand. Details on the AI and automation.
