Sound familiar?

The signs of a site that is too slow.

One is enough to make it worth measuring.

01

You wait for it yourself

You open your site on your phone on 4G and you count. If you have time to count, your customers have time to leave.

02

Google tells you in writing

In Search Console, the "Core Web Vitals" report rates your pages as "poor" or "needs improvement". Google reads it to rank you too.

03

The red score

PageSpeed Insights shows a red or orange mobile score, an LCP beyond 4 seconds, a high "initial server response time".

04

Visits, but no enquiries

The traffic is there but the form doesn't get sent, the cart is abandoned, the phone doesn't ring. Often, the page hasn't finished loading.

05

The "all-in-one" theme

A page builder, thirty plugins, animations everywhere. Every page loads hundreds of files, none of which you use.

06

The €3 host

The server takes nearly a second to respond before even sending the first line. No site optimisation makes up for that.

Step 2 · the method

What I do, in order.

No rebuild. No change of host unless necessary. Your site stays yours.

01

In-depth diagnosis

Full read: Lighthouse mobile and desktop, network waterfall, database, plugins, hosting, caching, images, fonts, third-party scripts. You receive a plain-language report and a firm quote with a measurable target.

  • Where the seconds go
  • What pays off most, first
  • Written target: mobile score and LCP
02

Fixing

Images resized and converted, caching configured without breaking carts and forms, useless scripts removed, self-hosted fonts, database cleaned, server and CDN tuned. Code, not one more "miracle" plugin.

  • Images, caching, scripts, fonts
  • Database and hosting
  • Tested on a copy before going live
03

Before / after measurement

The same tools, the same pages, before and after: PageSpeed mobile and desktop, response time, weight, and the Search Console report over 28 days. You see the result, not a promise.

  • Comparative report
  • Search Console monitored
  • If the target is not reached, I keep going at no extra charge
04

Lasting results

A site slows down as soon as you add a plugin or a video. Written performance budget, monthly monitoring, and maintenance if you want someone keeping watch.

  • Performance budget
  • Alert if it degrades
  • Maintenance as an option
Measured results

On live production sites, not demos.

PageSpeed Insights figures and server response times, recorded before and after the work.

B2B

69 → 99

Google mobile score of a WooCommerce provisioning store: local fonts, animations reserved for desktop, resized images.

PrestaShop

10 s → 1.3 s

Response time of a multilingual fine-food store: brute-force attack stopped, cache preloaded, database cleaned.

Headless

56 MB → 2.2 MB

Weight of the image grids of a Next.js store: modern formats, sizes adapted to the screen, lazy loading.

This site

100 / 100

Performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO of this homepage on mobile. I apply what I sell.

In practice

What changes for your visitors.

Before

  • Blank screen for 3 to 6 seconds on mobile
  • Text jumps when the fonts arrive
  • 3 MB photos displayed as thumbnails
  • Forty plugins loaded on every page
  • Server responding in 800 ms
  • Google: "slow URLs" in Search Console

After

  • Main content displayed in under 2.5 seconds
  • Stable layout, nothing moves
  • Images in the right format, at the right size, loaded when needed
  • Only the files the page needs
  • Server response under 200 ms, caching in place
  • Core Web Vitals in the green, ranking going up

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How do I know if my site is really too slow?+
Test it with the free tool: it gives the server response time, the page weight and the Google mobile score. Beyond 3 seconds before the main content appears, you lose visitors. Beyond 4, Google holds it against you.
Does the site need rebuilding?+
Rarely. In nine cases out of ten, we keep the site, the theme and the content: we fix the images, the caching, the plugins, the fonts and the hosting. A rebuild is only justified if the theme is beyond saving, and I tell you before quoting.
How long does it take?+
The in-depth diagnosis: two days. Fixing a showcase site: one week. A store with a catalogue: two to three weeks, with tests on a copy before going live.
My site is on WordPress, PrestaShop, Shopify, Wix: do you work on it?+
WordPress, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Next.js: yes, I work in the code. Shopify: yes, on the theme, the apps and the images, within the platform's limits. Wix and Squarespace: I can diagnose, but the levers are limited and I tell you so honestly.
What if it doesn't improve?+
The target is written into the quote, for example a mobile score of 90 or an LCP under 2.5 seconds on key pages. If it isn't reached, I keep going until it is, without billing an extra hour.
Does it last?+
Provided you don't reinstall ten plugins the following month. I leave a written performance budget and, with maintenance, monthly monitoring that warns you if it degrades.
